Picture

Dr Lemech has been an investigator in over 30 oncology and haematology studies including first-in-patient studies in the UK and Australia, with an interest in genitourinary cancers and immunotherapy.

She graduated from the University of New South Wales and was awarded her fellowship in Medical Oncology by the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in 2012.

She then completed a 4-year fellowship in London at a dedicated clinical trials facility, Sarah Cannon Research Institute UK.  Here, she gained expertise in both phase I and later-phase clinical trials across a spectrum of tumour streams and molecular targets, including immunotherapy.  She also worked as part of the multidisciplinary team in genitourinary and breast cancers at University College London (UCL) Hospital.  At the same time, she completed a clinical and laboratory based MD(res) at the UCL Cancer Institute with the study of biomarker development in endometrial cancer including circulating tumour cells and methylation studies.

She returned to Australia in 2015 and became the inaugural medical director of Scientia Clinical Research (SCR), a dedicated clinical trials facility in Sydney, co-located with the Nelune Comprehensive Cancer Centre at Prince of Wales Hospital.  SCR is a dedicated clinical trials facility with a focus on phase 1 first-in-human and first-in-patient studies in oncology, haematology and other disciplines.
